Description
The brown demoiselle is a damselfish (Pomacentridae) from reef water of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 8 cm and has an oval, grey-brown body with a yellow cast on the tail and thread-like extended upper and lower tail lobes. As a schooling fish it hovers in loose groups above coral and rocky reefs and snaps at small zooplankton and algae. The fish is harmless to humans.
