Description
The blacktooth myroconger is a rare red eel (Myrocongridae) of deeper reef and rock water of the eastern Atlantic. The species grows to about 40 cm and has a slender, laterally compressed, bright-red, eel-like body with small pectoral fins and dark teeth. As a hidden bottom-dweller it shelters in deeper crevices and caves and hunts small crustaceans and small fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
