Description
The Batan longfin is a small longfin (Plesiopidae) from shallow reef water of the western Pacific. The species grows to about 6 cm and has a stocky, brown-red body with pale spots and rounded, long fins. As a shy, nocturnal fish it shelters by day in coral crevices, holes and under overhanging reef and hunts small crustaceans at night. The fish is harmless to humans.
