Description
Banner's pipefish is a very small pipefish from the Indo-Pacific. The species reaches only about 6 cm and has an extremely slender, bony-ringed body and a long, tubular snout with which it sucks up tiny food. As a reef-dweller it shelters among coral and rubble and feeds on minute crustaceans. As in pipefishes, the male carries the eggs beneath its tail. The fish is harmless to humans. The IUCN has not evaluated the species.
