Description
The Kamchatka flounder is a large flatfish (Pleuronectidae) from cold waters of the northern Pacific. The species grows to about 1 metre and has an elongate, brownish body with both eyes on the right side and a large mouth with sharp, inward-curving teeth. As a bottom-oriented predator it lives on the continental slope from shallow to over a thousand metres and hunts fish and squid. It is a food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
