Description
The Singapore glassy perchlet is a small glassfish from the Indo-Pacific, known from Malaya, Indonesia, Borneo and the Philippines, with recent records from India. The species grows to about 10 cm and has the partly translucent body characteristic of glassfishes, through which the backbone is visible. It lives in coastal and brackish water and feeds on small invertebrates. It is marketed fresh or salted and dried. The IUCN assesses the species as Least Concern (LC).
